Samuel Smith, a junior at NBHS, was named to the coveted All-State choir recently. Choir students participated in the the third and final round of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Choir Auditions virtually during the week of January 11. This is the second year in a row that Smith has been selected for the All-State choir.

Since 1967, only 23 NBHS choir members had made the All-State choir, prior to Smith’s 2021 accomplishment. Smith’s achievement places him in the top 2% of all students who started the audition process back in September 2020.
